MONTEREY, California – Youth On Course the nonprofit organization providing youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf, has announced a three-year partnership with Pebble Beach Company (Pebble Beach).
This collaboration underscores both organizations’ commitment to fostering the next generation of golf industry leaders while promoting accessibility in the sport.
The partnership establishes Pebble Beach as the new national headquarters for the Careers On Course internship program, offering Youth on Course members valuable professional experience within the golf industry. Participants will develop essential skills that foster their social and academic growth, preparing them for future career opportunities in golf.
Each year, Pebble Beach will host a six to eight-week Careers on Course program from June 1 to Aug, 1 for Youth on Course members. This immersive experience will provide hands-on training in various facets of golf course management and operations at one of the most esteemed venues in the sport.
The partnership also introduces the renowned Spyglass Hill as a new course to the Youth on Course network providing members with unprecedented access to $5 rounds.
In addition, for the first time in its history, online tee time booking service GolfNow (an NBC Sports Next platform) will offer tee times at Spyglass Hill and current course partners The Links at Spanish Bay, and Del Monte Golf Course.
All rounds are booked through the Youth on Course mobile app in partnership with NBC Sports Next, a long-time partner of Youth on Course. Members can also still enjoy playing at The Hay, a Tiger Woods designed short course, anytime by walking up or calling ahead.
“We are thrilled to enter this formal partnership with Pebble Beach Company, a name synonymous with excellence in golf,” said Youth on Course CEO Adam Heieck. “This three-year collaboration will unlock new opportunities for our members, offering them access to new world-class courses and invaluable experience through our Careers on Course program.”
Since its inception in 2011, the Careers on Course internship program has been pivotal in shaping the trajectories of young golfers. Initially launching with only five interns, the program has expanded significantly to engage 292 participants.
Open to all active members aged 14 years or older, enrolled in high school or a GED program, and eligible to obtain a work permit, the internship offers a gateway to professional growth and development within the golf community.
“Youth on Course has done tremendous work to provide opportunities for young golfers, both on and off the course,” said David Stivers, CEO of Pebble Beach Company. “We share their team’s passion for empowering future generations and are proud to be a centerpiece of the Careers on Course initiative.”
Pebble Beach Company will also host annual Youth on Course events and will support Youth on Course’s mission to make golf accessible to all young people by contributing exclusive auction items for the Youth on Course yearly online auction in November.
