SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (Jan. 12, 2021) – Golfweek Magazine has included three VICI Golf Properties among its “Best 200 Resort Courses” list in the newly published “Ultimate Guide of Best Courses” for 2021.
Cascata in Boulder City, Nev. is ranked No. 54; Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier, Miss. is ranked No. 180; and Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson, Nev. is ranked No. 185 on the magazine’s ranking of America’s best resort golf courses.
“VICI Properties is honored to have three of our golf courses ranked among Golfweek’sBest 200 Resort Courses,” said VICI Properties Vice President of Golf Operations Jeff Krohn. “We are especially thrilled to see Rio Secco ranked for the first time, deservedly so, as it is one of the best course layouts in the Las Vegas area. Cascata, Grand Bear, and Rio Secco should be on every golfer’s list of courses to play. Our teams have done a tremendous job in maintaining high standards in service and course conditions consistent with the VICI name.”
Once reserved only for the highest of rollers in Las Vegas, Cascata is now a unique experience that is open to resort play, regardless of resort affiliation and residency status. Cascata’s private gates open to a spectacular landscape that forms a regal backdrop for a golf experience like no other.
The par-72, Rees Jones-designed course features stunning vistas at every turn, including the 3,600-foot peak at Red Mountain, impeccably manicured fairways, lakes, and meandering streams. A 418-foot waterfall from the steep mountainside towering above the driving range meanders through the practice facilities then cascades into a river that roars through the clubhouse and eventually culminates in a tranquil stream.
A Jack Nicklaus Signature Design, Grand Bear Golf Club opened in 1999 to widespread fanfare and near universal acclaim. Built six miles into the DeSoto National Forrest, the course offers a seemingly private golf experience as no two holes parallel another, and homes, roads, or other distractions are absent while on property. In its place, the golfer is alone to enjoy the pristine natural environment, where the manicured course conditions meet the towering pines and surrounding cypress wetlands. Grand Bear is consistently rated as one of the top daily-fee golf clubs in Mississippi.
Also designed by Rees Jones, Rio Secco Golf Club is located in the foothills of the Black Mountain Range, just 15 minutes southeast of the Las Vegas Strip. The par-72 course can play from 5,258 yards to over 7,300 yards and features six holes through steep canyons, six holes on a plateau overlooking the city and six holes in a broad desert wash.
Every year, Golfweek’s elite team of course raters, which currently boasts more than 850 evaluators, surveys more than 3,600 courses – grading each nominated course on the basis of Golfweek’s 10 strict standards of evaluation. Collectively, these knowledgeable raters have turned in more than 75,000 votes to compile Golfweek’s Best Courses lists.
