New Shawii Kitchen opens at popular Southern California club
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (March 29, 2021) – Woods Valley Golf Club in Valley Center, Calif. is now Native Oaks Golf Club following a club-wide rebrand and refresh. The daily-fee property, located just north of San Diego, also renovated and renamed the club’s restaurant to Shawii Kitchen.
Owned by the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation, an entity of the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians, the new names pay homage to community’s traditions and are representative of the beautiful land they call home. The new Native Oaks logo depicts a flourishing oak tree, while the new Shawii Kitchen logo features the nut of the oak tree, an acorn.
OB Sports, a Troon company, and the San Pasqual EDC have made a number of significant enhancements to the popular facility since 2019. In addition to club and restaurant rebranding, the golf shop, restaurant and kitchen have all been renovated, while on-course cart paths and bridges were repaired and agronomic standards have been elevated.
“We’re very excited about the many positive improvements and progress at Native Oaks Golf Club over the last year,” said Hellyaachwehay Quisquis, President/CEO of the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation. “Now, with the rebranding and official opening of Shawii Kitchen, we have a full-service restaurant that can be a point of pride and a local gathering place for the community.”
Open for breakfast and lunch, the new Shawii Kitchen offers casual indoor and outdoor dining with a full menu of local favorites including sandwiches, salads, wraps and more.
Designed by Dave Ginkel, the former Woods Valley Golf Club opened for play in 2004. The golf course measures 6,670 yards and plays to a par of 72 as it winds its way through native oak tree-lined fairways and rolling slopes that follow the natural contours of the countryside. The course’s unique topography provides stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Native Oaks Golf Club is centrally located from three destination casino hotels, Valley View Casino & Hotel, Harrah’s Resort Southern California and Pala Casino Spa & Resort.
The club’s North San Diego location makes it an easy drive for San Diego, Orange and Riverside County residents.
