University of San Diego and San Diego State men’s golf teams host collegiate event
WIXOM, Michigan – SuperStroke, the No. 1 Putter Grip in golf and the leader in innovative Tour-proven golf grip technology, will be the presenting sponsor of next week’s R.E. Lamkin Invitational men’s college golf tournament at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif.
The University of San Diego and San Diego State University men’s golf programs are proud to host the 2025 R.E. Lamkin Invitational, a 54-hole stroke-play event which takes place March 10-11. Day 1 of the event will include 36 holes of continuous play and Day 2 will consist of the final 18 holes. Spectators are welcome at the event.
Lamkin Golf Grips has sponsored the event for 17 years. SuperStroke, which purchased Lamkin in the spring of 2024, is proud to continue the tradition.

Last year, the University of San Diego men’s team won this event by four strokes over Colorado and Fresno State. This year’s field includes 16 teams and 93 players. Teams competing include the University of San Diego, San Diego State University, Notre Dame, Colorado, BYU, Colorado State, University of New Mexico, Loyola Marymount University, University of Santa Clara, Saint Mary’s College, the University of Wyoming, Cal Poly, Fresno State, UC Davis, UC San Diego, and the University of Hawaii.
The top-ranked teams in the field include #22 BYU, #25 San Diego State, #32 Notre Dame, and #33 Colorado.
