PEBBLE BEACH, Cal. (April 26, 2018) – For a die-hard golf enthusiast, what could be better than playing the most prestigious golf courses in the country?
How about playing them while the game’s rising stars compete in the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship just yards away? That’s the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity Pebble Beach Resorts is offering with the U.S. Amateur Challenge at Pebble Beach on Aug. 16-19.
Here’s how it will work:
- Aug 16 and 17, in a two-person best ball net format, participants will play one round at Spyglass Hill Golf Course and one round at The Links at Spanish Bay.
- At the end of the second day, the low 60 teams will advance to the final round on Aug. 18 at Pebble Beach Golf Links, the No. 1 public golf course in the country.
- The remaining players will play their final round at Spyglass Hill Golf Course, host of the stroke-play portion of this year’s U.S. Amateur.
- After the final putt drops, an awards reception will be held to recognize the winners.
It will be the ideal way to finally settle that long-standing (friendly) rivalry between friends, family or colleagues to determine who’s the best on the course – all in championship course conditions. And with the challenge months away, there’s plenty of time to prepare.
An entry fee of $6,500 per player includes three nights at The Inn at Spanish Bay, three rounds of golf, and other special amenities. $1,000 of the entry fee is tax-deductible and will benefit the Pebble Beach Company Foundation.
