Metamora was founded in 1990 and features an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Don Childs and Associates. The club spans 182 acres and offers activities for families and non-golfers, such as a members-only pool and tennis and pickleball courts. The club has been under local ownership for 15 years and they felt the time was right to expand their influence.
“We look forward to welcoming members and non-members at both locations and increasing the number of events we host for families, businesses and community organizations at Boulder Pointe’s beautiful banquet facility,” said Rick Fleming, club manager and co-owner at Metamora.
Boulder Pointe is also a semi-private course and includes three 9-hole courses that each feature a different vibe and challenges. Players can tackle the courses in any order to make a golf outing specific to their desires, with a total of more than 7,000 yards available to choose from.
The courses are located on the site of a reclaimed gravel mine that includes 15 lakes and stark elevation changes. The club also houses practice facilities, locker rooms, club storage and a full-service 26,000-square-foot clubhouse that features a chef’s kitchen and banquet seating for up to 300 people.

Fleming will serve as general manager for both clubs and will oversee 120 employees. Current memberships will continue under the new arrangement and new members are invited to join. All membership benefits are awarded to members of either club when visiting the sister club.
The new ownership has plans to make improvements and updates to Boulder Pointe as necessary and will continue to support the local community with events such as the Metamora Charity Golf Classic, which began seven years ago and has raised more than $100,000.
“Just as we’ve been dedicated to giving back to the community in Metamora and throughout Lapeer County, we look forward to doing the same in Oxford and Oakland County,” Fleming said. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to expand and look forward to helping our members and the community make memories at two world-class golf courses.”
