Companies share mission to harness the power of design, technology, and innovation to create unique fan experiences
SEOUL, South Korea and PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida – TGL presented by SoFi, the new, prime time team golf league backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports, announced Genesis as the league’s first Founding Partner.
The TGL partnership builds on Genesis’ long-term commitment to golf with the Genesis Invitational, Genesis Scottish Open, Presidents Cup, and DP World Tour and KPGA TOUR’s co-sanctioned Genesis Championship; and will showcase how Genesis and TGL harness the power of design, technology, and innovation.
TGL’s tech-infused, progressive approach to golf compliments Genesis’ efforts to provide people more access to innovative experiences.
Today’s announcement was made by Mike Song, Global Head of Genesis, and Mike McCarley, CEO and Founder, TMRW Sports and TGL presented by SoFi.
“At Genesis, we design our customer experiences with a tailored approach to ensure that every experience is both unique and original. We take the same approach with our golf partnerships and believe in TGL’s mission to harness technology to build a truly unique platform that blends golf, media, and entertainment,” said Song. “We’re eager for the launch of TGL this January and bringing Genesis’ audacious and distinctly Korean brand DNA to a whole new generation of golfers and golf fans through this exciting new team golf platform.”
“TGL presented by SoFi is honored to welcome Genesis as the league’s first Founding Partner. The Genesis brand aligns perfectly with TGL through their commitment to designing exceptional and innovative products, and their demonstrated commitment to golf all around the world,” said McCarley. “We value their focus on providing unique, world-class experiences to consumers. We look forward to working with Genesis to promote TGL and its teams to a global fan base in new and engaging ways.”
TGL presented by SoFi consists of six teams of PGA TOUR superstars competing in progressive, fast-paced team golf within the custom-built SoFi Center, a 250,000 square foot, steel-supported venue on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
TGL will launch on Tuesday, Jan. 7 and the season will run through the end of March.
In the U.S., TGL will air primarily in prime time on ESPN and ESPN+ and with other prominent media partners around the globe, including JTBC/Phoenix Sports International in South Korea.
