DUBLIN, Ireland (July 30, 2018) – Carr Golf — Ireland, England and Scotland’s premier provider of unforgettable golf experiences — announces the 2019 Donald Ross Pro-Am will be held on Scotland’s renowned Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Sept. 24-28.
The exclusive field is limited to 16 teams, each consisting of one PGA Professional and three amateurs. This one-of-a-kind golf pilgrimage features a practice round at Brora Golf Club – home of the James Braid Golfing Society – one tournament round at scenic Castle Stuart Golf Linksoverlooking the Moray Firth and two tournament rounds at Royal Dornoch.
The exceptional event also includes four nights’ accommodation, welcome reception and entertainment, three meals daily, premium gift packs presented by tournament partner Donald Ross Sportswear, airport transfers, local transportation, and concierge service both pre-trip as well as during the event. Additionally, a $20,000 prize will be divided among the winning PGA Professionals.

The journey to the “Home of Golf” celebrates the genius and memory of one of golf’s greatest contributors. Born in the town of Dornoch in 1872, Ross immigrated to America in 1899 and became known as the “Father of U.S. Golf Course Architecture.”
His world-class designs include Pinehurst No. 2, Aronimink Golf Club, East Lake Golf Club, Seminole Golf Club, Oak Hill Country Club, Inverness Club and Oakland Hills Country Club. Over 100 U.S. national championships have been played on his courses.
The inaugural Donald Ross Tournament was hosted at Royal Dornoch (shown above), with a practice round at Brora Golf Club, on Oct. 8-12, 2017. Highlights included an audience with noted golf course architecture writer Bradley Klein, winner of the Donald Ross Award. Said Klein of the experience, “Go — it’s a must-attend event.”
