AUGUSTA, Georgia – The historic Forest Hills Golf Course in Augusta, Ga., has reopened for play under the management of Bobby Jones Links, the golf industry’s leading client-centric, boutique management company, after an extensive renovation of its greens designed to enhance playability and the overall golf experience.
The modifications significantly improve one of Augusta’s premier golf destinations.
The course’s greens were planted with TifEagle Bermuda grass, one of the best grasses available. This will offer golfers a smoother, faster, and more consistent playing surface.
“Our members and daily fee golfers will now enjoy superb greens that will also meet the high standards we must have to host the many high-profile tournaments that we host,” said Jed Howington, President of the Augusta Golf Association.
In addition to unveiling the greatly enhanced playing conditions, BJL will implement a working plan to make Forest Hills one of the region’s best-run and most enjoyable daily-fee golf experiences.
For example, BJL’s Vice President of Experiences, Allyson Darling, will map out Forest Hills’ “customer journey” with the club staff to ensure golfers are given exemplary service at every point of their visit. Darling and the BJL team will educate the staff on BJL’s five core values and 17 service standards for an optimal customer experience.
“With BJL at the helm, Forest Hills will have more resources, expertise, cost savings, and systems than before,” said Whitney Crouse, Co-Founder of Bobby Jones Links, the company that manages the property. “The dining experience and the club’s social media presence will also improve considerably.
“Forest Hills is already a fun, scenic, and historic course that generations have enjoyed. It’s Augusta’s best and busiest daily fee course.”
Regarding the anticipated reopening, Char Cormier, the General Manager of Forest Hills Golf Course, said, “We are thrilled to welcome new and returning players to experience the improvements. Since we have been closed since June 17 and survived a few things Mother Nature has thrown our way, we know golfers are greatly anticipating playing the course again and seeing the new greens. We believe the wait will have been worth it.”
The greens renovation is part of an ongoing effort to maintain Forest Hills’ reputation as a top-tier golf destination. Designed in 1926 by the legendary Donald Ross, the course has hosted numerous prestigious collegiate and amateur events and is a favorite among local players and Augusta visitors.
Forest Hills has also achieved national notoriety as one of the most in-demand courses during Masters Week.
