DALLAS — The All Pro Tour has announced its 2025 tournament series. The season will feature six events in five states including: Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois and Kansas.
The six tournaments in the 2025 schedule are conveniently placed near several Korn Ferry Monday Qualifiers and will offer larger purses, highly competitive fields, and unique PGA TOUR Pre-Qualifying opportunities.
“We are focused on hosting events that are timely, offer players an amazing purse and payout, while trying to fill their schedule between PGA Americas, Monday Qualifiers and State Opens”, stated APT president, Gary DeSerrano. “Professional golf has evolved over the years and there are lots of playing opportunities in the men’s game. We want to focus on a few events that will make an impact on a young golfer’s year.”
The new season will begin March 18 and will conclude December 10, where players will have a chance to compete for the highest purse in the All Pro Tour’s 32-year history at the High Stakes Showdown, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
March
The All Pro Tour will open its season in the Pelican State for the Paragon Casino Open at Tamahka Trails (Mar. 18-21), held in Marksville, Louisiana. Tamahka Trails is a special gem in central Louisiana, being voted one of the state’s top courses every year. With its rolling terrain, the course features winding creeks and century-old trees that will challenge any professional’s game. The tournament series opener is expected to host a $150,000 purse, with the champion taking home $30,000.
Past winners include Blaine Hale Jr. (2020), who earned a PGA Tour card in 2023 and Martin Flores (2021), who played seven seasons on the PGA Tour. One unique aspect of this event is that all players have the opportunity to pre-qualify for the Texas Children’s Houston Open during the first round of the Paragon Casino Open.
April
The tour will then head to Texas for Birdies on the Bayou (Apr. 23-26), at Brownwood Country Club, where the PGA TOUR CJ Cup Byron Nelson Pre-Qualifier will be held in conjunction with the first round of Birdies on the Bayou. The tournament is within a 2.5 hour drive of the Dallas Korn Ferry Monday Qualifier on April 21. The champion will receive $30,000 of the anticipated $150,000 tournament purse.
Sam Murphy won the 2024 title with a dramatic 9-under final round. Other players who claimed victory at Brownwood Country Club include Jermey Gandon (2021), Zach Bouchou (2020), Brad Burner (2019), and AJ McInerney (2018). With this being the 10th year for Birdies on the Bayou on the schedule, the event has become a staple for players and the Brownwood community.
June
June plays host to two events, with the first stop in Duncan, Oklahoma for the Territory Classic (June 4-7). Participants in this year’s event will also have the opportunity to pre-qualify for the Texas State Open in the first round of the Territory Classic. Known for its beauty, white sand bunkers and rolling hills, Territory Golf Club offers a stunning yet challenging layout. The tournament champion will get $30,000 out of the estimated $150,000 total prize money.
The tournament concluded in dramatic fashion with a three-way playoff between Brooklin Bailey, AJ Ott, and Andrew Beckler, highlighting the challenging nature of last year’s competition. Bailey’s exceptional 8-under par performance in the final round propelled him 18 spots up the leaderboard, securing his place in the playoff on the 18th hole. Bailey clinched the championship title with a decisive birdie putt on the first hole of the play-off.
The season lineup will continue for one of the most exciting events of the year at the OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois Championship (June 25-28) in Peoria, IL. Scheduled as a dual-tour (APT and ANNIKA WAPT) event, the players will compete on two amazing courses; Metamora Fields Golf Club and WeaverRidge Golf Club.
Described as a ‘Mini-Tour Event Like No Other’, players will have the opportunity to pre-qualify for the John Deere Classic and the Texas State Open during the first round of the tournament. This featured event will boast a purse of $175,000 and a $35,000 first prize.
Although this will only be the third year the event has been on the APT schedule, the tournament has already seen well decorated champions including Charlie Saxon (2023) and Gavin Cohen (2024), who advanced to the Final Stage of the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Q-School.
August
Up next is the Southwest Kansas Pro-Am (Aug. 11-14) held at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course and The Club at Southwind. Located in Garden City, both courses are considered two of the toughest APT players see each year. Tall fescue and little protection from the Kansas wind produce higher than normal winning scores. The champion of the SWKSPA will receive $30,000 of the anticipated $150,000 tournament purse.
Matthew Watkins won in a playoff over Sam Murphy with a winning score of 10 under par in 2024. It was Watkins’ first professional win in his first start as a professional!
Other notable champions include: Kelly Kraft (2012), Wil Collins (2010), Ryan Vermeer (2009), and Gary Woodland (2008). The tournament is conveniently scheduled the week before the popular Oklahoma Open in Edmond, OK.
December
The final event of the year is a new event on the APT, the High Stakes Showdown, will be held Dec. 8-10 in Lake Charles, LA. The tournament will boast an estimated $250,000 purse – the largest in APT’s 30-year history – and will award its champion with $50,000. Played on two exceptional courses, the event’s unique format will be announced in the new year.
Registration for most tournaments on the schedule will open Jan. 6.
