DUNEDIN, NEW ZEALAND (February 19, 2015) — GolfPod, the world’s first hardshell golf travel case and cart-bag combo, which created an industry-wide stir among the thousands of attendees at its launch during the 2015 PGA Merchandise Show, received another tribute as it was recognized by Golfweek Magazine’s Golf Life Extra (February 2015) as one of its “5 Favorite Products At PGA Show.”
Designed and developed by New Zealand-based Aeroe Limited, GolfPod was the Show’s center of conversation for many members of the media, PGA professionals, golf administrators, club managers and other golf industry executives from around the world.
Aeroe’s CEO and Founder, Pat Maguire, said “We were thrilled with the response from the international golf and travel media, many of whom have filed favorable articles and broadcasts. In addition, the reactions of enthusiastic attendees from Asian markets as well as buyers from European and North American golf outlets was overwhelming.”
The GolfPod also made the list of Golf Digest’s “12 Coolest Products at the PGA Show,” is the subject of articles in Arnold Palmer’s Kingdom magazine, Golf Canada, New England Golf Monthly, Yahoo Sports, and featured on ESPN.com as well as Asian and European print and electronic outlets, and the focus of positive reviews in numerous blogs and tweets..
The Company is in the process of establishing a worldwide network of distributors for the GolfPod as well as other innovative products it plans to bring to global markets under the Aeroe brand. Maguire said the Company is currently having active discussions for licensing and joint venture arrangements with a variety of prominent golf, travel, automotive, luggage and other luxury brands. In addition, GolfPod will be sold directly via Aeroe’s website, www.aeroegolf.com. Deliveries of initial GolfPod units are scheduled during the fourth quarter of 2015 with MSRP of $599.
The GolfPod is fabricated from a hardshell material, yet when fully laden with clubs, shoes, rain gear, gloves, tees, beverages and more, the patent pending unit weighs less than 50 pounds, thus avoiding the surcharges applied by most airlines for overweight baggage. Moreover, it is not considered over-sized baggage and can be retrieved on the regular baggage claim carousel. As an alternative, it can be shipped “as is” via Fedex or UPS, again a time and money-saving factor.
GolfPod is easily maneuverable by all golfers including women, juniors and seniors. It is compact, secure with a TSA-approved lock system, waterproof and everything is clearly visible and accessible when mounted on a powered golf cart or cart trolley.
Its sleek, streamlined design is 25 percent smaller than traditional soft-cover travel cases. It measures 49″ high, 11″ wide, and 11″ deep and can be accessorized to accommodate long handled putters. GolfPod comes in a variety of colors, theme-oriented designs, and may be personalized with the name of a club, organization or individual on the outer case.
“The engineers at Aeroe designed GolfPod after three years of research and analysis of the golf bag and travel case markets. It was apparent to us there had been virtually no changes or advancements in these categories for many years. At Aeroe, we wanted to provide the golfer with a sensible, cost-effective approach to moving clubs from the home to the airport to the golf course or just from the car to the golf course and in a few quick steps be on the tee box ready to hit the golf ball,” said Maguire.
He added, “With golf’s governing bodies seeking ways to enhance pace of play, GolfPod, in its own unique way, through its mobility, visibility, and accessibility features, contributes toward this effort. It eliminates one of the stress levels golfers must tolerate as they travel from one destination to another. Once at the golf course, the product’s special design factors further reduce the annoying problems so common to traditional golf bags.”
Aeroe has also designed a complementary accessory, “The Link”, which enables the GolfPod to be externally attached to the roof or tailgate of an automobile or on a powered cart or push cart/trolley without the need for straps or bungee cords. It incorporates an easy to operate, patent pending rack with a unique snap connection and quick release mechanism. Up to four Golf Pods fit atop most vehicles in a safe and secure position with “The Link.” It will be introduced coinciding with the first deliveries of GolfPod with MSRP of $195.
