Perry Family continues investing in Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish gem with course renovation project
ROCKWALL, Texas (June 28, 2021) – Buffalo Creek Golf Club and KemperSports recently announced plans for a three-month course renovation project as the next step in a multi-year $6.5 million facility enhancement plan to elevate the course back to a top public golf destination in DFW.
This popular Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish designed championship course has seen huge success since the Perry family took over the property only 12 months ago. The project, which began this month, will deliver newly leveled tee boxes and upgrades to all bunkers throughout the course enhancing the overall playing experience and delivering outstanding playing conditions.
The project will be completed by the end of the summer while the course remains open for golfers to enjoy throughout this exciting renovation.
This course enhancement project reinforces the Perry Family’s vision for the property and commitment to creating an exceptional golf experience for its guests. The Perry Family assumed operational control of the property in June 2020 and immediately made a series of investments and improvements to the property as part of their commitment to returning Buffalo Creek to the top of the list for best public golf courses in the Dallas – Ft. Worth Metroplex.
The family plans several more enhancements and projects in the coming years to continue establishing Buffalo Creek Golf Club as the premiere destination for great golf and recreational lifestyle activities in the community and all of Dallas/Fort Worth.
During this renovation process, all tee boxes will be leveled to create a more even teeing ground and grassed with new “Latitude” Bermudagrass sod. Additionally, all existing sand in the bunkers will be removed and replaced with new “Premier White” sand to provide better playability and aesthetics. “Premier White” sand is widely regarded as the best in the golf industry and used at top daily fee golf courses, resorts and private clubs.
These course upgrades follow a series of other capital investments in the last year as part of the Perry Family’s vision for the course, including the purchase of new state-of-the-art EZGO RXV golf carts, beverage cart, kitchen equipment, maintenance equipment and irrigation pump station.
Additionally, the Pavilion at Buffalo Creek, known as Betty’s Place, was also recently upgraded with new amenities including new furniture, TVs and an extended outdoor area with a new fireplace offering golfers more choices in food and beverage before, during and after their round.
“Our main goal is to continue delivering outstanding course conditions and award-winning customer service that is reminiscent of the original days at Buffalo Creek,” said Brad Dutler, Buffalo Creek GC’s general manager. “We are committed to making Buffalo Creek Golf Club one of the top public courses in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and we are excited to unveil these course enhancements later this summer.”
The golf course will be hosting a celebratory event for golfers and non-golfers to showcase all amenities and improvements that will include live music and family activities. A date for the celebration is yet to be determined and will be announced later this summer.
Buffalo Creek Golf Club was recently named to a list of “Top 25 Most Improved Golf Courses” in the U.S. according to the GOLFPASS 2021 Golfer’s Choice Awards. This award recognized the improvements and investments made shortly after the Perry family took over and the overall goal to provide the finest golf and lifestyle events, amenities and experiences in the area.
