PGA TOUR Champions’ Charles Schwab Cup Championship set for Nov. 7-10
PHOENIX Arizona – Phoenix Country Club will host the PGA TOUR Champions’ Charles Schwab Cup Championship Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 7-10.
The 2024 season-ending event will be the 50th professional golf tournament played at Phoenix Country Club in the historic venue’s 125-year history – more than any other golf facility in Arizona (TPC Scottsdale is No. 2 with 36 events).
The Charles Schwab Cup Championship has been played at Phoenix Country Club since 2017 after relocating from Desert Mountain Country Club.
In addition to the Schwab Cup, the venerable downtown Phoenix club hosted the Phoenix Open 42 times, including annually from 1932-1954 and 1972-1986, and every other year between 1956 and 1970.
The PGA TOUR Champions announced last year that Phoenix Country Club will continue to host the Charles Schwab Cup Championship through 2032.
“The members of Phoenix Country Club are honored to host the 2024 Charles Schwab Cup Championship, continuing the Club’s long history of welcoming top professional golfers,” said Phoenix Country Club board president Ryan Luke. “In this the Club’s 125th anniversary, we’re proud of Phoenix Country Club’s role in both Arizona golf and professional golf history.”
The third and final event of the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs, the Championship will feature the top 36 golfers in the standings and determine the annual Charles Schwab Cup Champion.
This year’s field is expected to include current Schwab Cup points leader Ernie Els, 2023 Charles Schwab Cup champion Steven Alker, Stephen Ames, Richard Green, K.J. Choi, Jerry Kelly, Padraig Harrington, Stewart Cink, Darren Clarke, Bernhard Langer, Rocco Mediate and many more.
