“Our seven inductees are incredible additions to the Texas Golf Hall of Fame. The induction dinner brings together all sectors of the game and was sold out months before the event, a testament to how many people care for, and want to celebrate, this special Class of 2024,” stated Board Chairman, Reid Meyers.
Alli Jarrett, Executive Director of the Texas Golf Hall of Fame, added, “This year’s celebration, held at one of our historic courses, embodies the spirit and excellence of Texas golf. The dedication, talent, and contributions of our members have made a lasting impact on the game, and it is up to us to ensure their legacies are preserved forever.”
The “Gathering of Eagles” festivities included a golf tournament held at Houston Country Club with the tradition of “Driving In” with each inductee using a hickory club, a tradition President George H.W. Bush and Don Cherry started in 1995.
In addition to their Digital Museum Exhibits, the Class of 2024 is commemorated with a permanent granite marker on the Texas Golf Hall of Fame’s Walk of Fame, at historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course in San Antonio, TX, and a marker at the newest Anchor Site at PGA Frisco – The Ronny Golf Park in Frisco, TX.
Over 300 guests attended including 22 Texas Golf Hall of Fame members and World Golf Hall of Fame members, Ben Crenshaw and Sandra Haynie, together with Homero Blancas, Mark Brooks, Blaine McCallister, and Ryan Palmer to name a few. David Marr III was emcee and each inductee was pinned by Chairman Meyers making their membership official.
Other event attendees included board members, prominent golf and business leaders, golf enthusiasts, and representatives from each of the Texas Golf Hall of Fame’s allied associations: Alamo City Golf Trail, Lone Star Golf Course Superintendents Association, Northern Texas PGA, Southern Texas PGA, Texas Lone Star Chapter of CMAA, and the Texas Golf Association.
There are now 157 individuals and 15 golf courses in the Texas Golf Hall of Fame.
