Major facilities and golf course renovations at popular Fort Worth daily fee club
FORT WORTH, Texas – The Golf Club at Fossil Creek, one of the premier daily fee golf clubs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, has extensively upgraded the course, facilities and unveiled a new logo.
Etched into the rolling hills of Fort Worth, The Golf Club at Fossil Creek is one of the final signature designs of the legendary Arnold Palmer. This 18-hole championship golf course encompasses rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes, gently contoured bluffs, and massive trees.
All 56 bunkers on the 6,865-yard, par-72 course have been renovated using the Better Billy Bunker method of construction to provide a superior playing experience. Additional golf amenities include an expansive golf practice facility featuring a 24-station driving range, two practice greens, practice bunker, chipping area, and indoor teaching facility.
The halfway house—located between the 6th and 7th as well as the 15th and 16th holes—is now named The Boat House. It is situated next to the adjacent pond that will be used for model boat races.
A complete food and beverage menu is available to golfers and members of the community who access the Blue Line walking trail that connects the nearby neighborhood to the golf course. An inviting seating area with Adirondack-style furniture, tables, rockers, misters, and bistro lights provides a gathering spot that also will feature a schedule of live music.
The spectacular clubhouse was also treated to a major transformation. The pro shop, now known as the Lifestyle Shop, features t-shirts, flasks, glassware, swimsuits, and nontraditional golf lines, plus a new food and beverage counter with a selection of draft beers and a Vodka tap to make Bloody Mary’s and other mixed drinks.
Connected to the Lifestyle Shop is Arnie’s Retreat. It pays homage to the course designer with displays of photographs, memorabilia, comfortable seating, a fireplace, and mounted flat screen.
The Overlook Ballroom, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and a spectacular view, was refreshed with new flooring, paint and furniture. Capacity has increased to accommodate 180 seated guests with a dance floor, making Fossil Creek an ideal setting for weddings and celebrations, big and small.
Customers and community residents will enjoy the new The Ivy Grill & Patio, the refurbished main restaurant overlooking the 18th hole. The renovation includes new seating, flooring, and wood finishes on the ceiling and walls. Its’ signature circular room, an ivy-covered turret, also houses a pool table and comfortable seating. The three-tier patio, accessible from the ballroom or grill, is ideal for golfers and members of the community to enjoy post-round gatherings or private events and features firepits, Adirondack-style chairs, and rockers.
Additionally, the club updated its outdoor wedding site—The Glen, which is set amidst beautiful oak trees and features golf course backdrops. The trees can be up lit for a dramatic effect and pendant lighting illuminates the patio. New stairs and a stamped concrete walkway lead to the ceremony site, which can seat nearly 200.
Open to the public for daily play, dining and events, Fossil Creek is an ideal venue for golf tournaments, corporate outings, weddings, meetings, and special events, offering the upscale amenities and unmatched service of an exclusive private club.
