One-of-kind screen design and padded enclosure highlight the expert-built features
TOLEDO, Ohio – Ace Indoor Golf, the industry’s foremost builder, designer and installer of golf simulator hardware and technology, recently completed an intricate custom simulator installation at the GOLFTEC headquarters in Denver, Colorado. For GOLFTEC, the world leader in golf lessons and premium club fittings, this installation provides a cutting-edge upgrade to GOLFTEC’s video production studio.
“We were looking to add a next-level, state-of-the-art simulator experience for our new studio,” said Nick Clearwater, Vice President of Instruction at GOLFTEC. “Joe Neumeyer and his team at Ace Indoor Golf were able to build and install the simulator to our exact specifications and results are incredible. Having this simulator has elevated our lessons, club fittings and video content for our students.”
GOLFTEC and Clearwater had unique request for this simulator – an eight-degree curved hitting screen.
“It feels like more of a surround-type of environment, in which you’re more immersed in the simulator experience,” he said. “The Ace team was able to give us exactly what we wanted with the custom-built curved screen. We knew Ace had previously done work for Foresight Sports and Five Iron Golf, so we were confident in their ability to deliver a great product, and we weren’t disappointed. It definitely pays to work with the best in the business.”
GOLFTEC’s new hitting bay was finished off with a custom enclosure including nearly undetectable foam pads (for optimal ball deflection from mishits) on the walls bordering the curved screen.
“Plus, the contrast of the dark border enclosure that frames the screen makes it really pop on camera when we shoot video content,” said Clearwater. “Joe and Ace paid a lot of attention to detail, right down to the distance between the projector and the gigantic hitting screen. Everything was well thought out and tailored just for us. It looks great and really is the centerpiece of our headquarters.
“Clients and guests who visit have all commented that that is the biggest and best simulator they’ve ever seen, and that’s before they even experience hitting on it. We have six simulators in our office, but this is the one people want to hit into.”
Neumeyer has helmed simulator installation projects for PGA Tour Superstore and Five Iron Golf, and noted that it’s a unique privilege to help create this environment for another golf giant.
“GOLFTEC is the industry leader in golf improvement, club fitting and live and recorded lessons. Knowing how meticulously they are and to what high standards they build every aspect of their technology, it means a lot to have their trust and to build a relationship with one of the most respected companies in golf,” he said.
